Our wood pellet range which we bought from you is much more economical than our oil Aga range cooker! Here are our running cost comparisons. Have just got round to looking at our annual energy consumption, for oil prices I have used the price we paid last time. We installed a 2 Oven Oil Aga range cooker in 1992 Oil for Aga range cooker and Central Heating/Hot water 3,000l @ 52.7p : £1,581 Electricity : £780 Total : £2,361 We installed a 3.84 kW solar system in December 2011 and thought it prudent to convert the oil Aga range cooker to electric with AIMS which was done by Aga range cooker themselves in March 2012 at a cost of around £2,500. We did however have difficulty in getting running costs from Aga range cookers. Oil for Hot Water/Central Heating 700l @ 52.7p : £369 Electricity : £1,440 Own Generated Electricity (100% used) 3427kW @ 12.2p : £418 Total : £2,227 Due to the high cost of running the Aga range cooker, when we thought we would actually save due to our solar system, we decided to look at alternatives. As you know we decided on a 3-oven pellet cooker from you. Oil for Hot Water/Central Heating 700l @ 52.7p : £369 Electricity : £455 Own Generated Electricity (50% Used) 1897kW @ 12.2p : £237 Pellets : 1.96 Tonnes : £490 Total : £1,551 This assumes we will use all pellets we purchased by the anniversary date, although I expect we will still have some left as currently have 180kg unused with 12 days to go at 8kg. Therefore you can see that our energy costs since we have had the Thornhill Range cooker our energy costs are 30% less. Further the oil Aga range cooker costs do not included twice yearly services. Kind regards, Terry
